Mission Statement
I am passionate about working with parents and teenagers to heal the huge gap that is growing between them. I believe that if families can learn to live together in peace and harmony then not only will this benefit them in their own homes but also in their schools and workplaces and local communities.Children today are born into a much different world than their parents grew up in. Many of them are highly sensitive to the world around them and as they begin their teenage years they are developing a strong sense of self, of what they want and what they expect. It does not work with todays teenagers to say ‘do as I say not do as I do’!!
It saddens me that most adults, especially the media and politicians, do not have a good word to say about teenagers. Whose fault is it if our teenagers have no respect for themselves or others, if they believe that happiness comes from objects that they own, if they have not learned that their actions have consequences, if they think they can simply take what is not theirs? They were not born this way, sadly they have learned through experience from the adults around them.
Parents have the biggest influence on todays teenagers and it is my mission to empower parents so that they can be the best parents they can be and therefore they can empower their teenagers to be the best that they can be.
Henry ford said “ If you always do what you have always done then you will always get what you have always got “ The truth is if your parenting techniques are not having the desired effect it is time to change your techniques.
I have worked happily with teenagers for 20 years. Through those years I developed the 7 simple steps that parents can take so they can joyfully and proudly share the amazing journey their teenager takes from child to young adult.
I know these 7 steps work and my heart sings every time a new set of parents see it too.
It is my mission and my passion to teach my 7 Steps to a Tremendous Teen to as many parents as possible so they can stop fighting with their teen and start to experience the great pride and absolute pleasure of guiding their son or daughter through the transitional teenage years.
